This area, with hundreds of Limestone mountains containing many caves, is tied together with winding streams and dotted with ancient buildings. A castle called “Peng Jia Ci” is built along a mountain, and is a magnificent structure with a birds-eye view of the surrounding landscape. Light in color with a mild, mellow flavor and a hint of flowers. Organically grown without chemical fertilizers or pesticides, and only natural methods used in bringing organic matter and nutrients to the soil. Grown at low elevations, it’s called Ever-Spring Tea, because the weather where it is grown is “spring-like” all year long. This tea is harvested six times a year. Archeological research shows that in the prehistoric era, people lived in this area on river terraces. They mainly led an agricultural life and engaged in hunting and fishing for extra food sources. About a thousand years ago Taokas, a group of the indigenous Taiwanese, settled here. The name Miaoli refers to a plateau in Taokas. Miaoli County is located in the mid-northern coast of western Taiwan. It faces the Taiwan Strait in the west. This tea has a very light color and delicate flavor.
